Who needs a decorator when you have an architect?

I was sad to read that you're not supposed to compost citrus or tomatoes. In the summer that's pretty much what I eat.

I love the teddy bear painting.

Convert to greyscale, max out contrast using Curves, Brightness/Contrast or Levels, convert to duotone, set to monotone, pick your color, Bob's your uncle.

Benjamin Moore has a supposedly washable matte finish paint, though I haven't tried it myself.

Love your kitchen, esp. the open shelves and those countertops. I've bookmarked Fireslate for when I'm finally able to redo my kitchen. The whole house is wonderful.

A tough one. I'm going to guess sixties, just because I don't think someone who designed a kitchen this obsessively retro would line things up on the back of the stove like that. Also, no exhaust h...

I've used One-shot sign enamel on furniture and it's worked extremely well. I just went over the piece with liquid sander first.

I will be listening to Santa Came Home Drunk by Clyde Lasley and The Cadillac Baby Specials. On a red Geneva sound system, I hope.

I have the artemis and after two years still like looking up at it. No fan is actually going to be invisible, so why not get one that's pretty? I live in a circa-1900 three-decker, with a rather ec...
