In PA, we all complain about the state liquor stores, and with good reason. However, they do have a lot of buying power to get good discounts. The "premium collection" stores do have some great d...
eggs, butter, Earth Balance, whole milk, soymilk, 1% milk (!), Cholula hot sauce, Parmesan, Cheddar, and usually a third variety of cheese, mustard, walnut oil, ketchup, peanut butter, tahini, yeas...
We registered before designing our beautiful yellow and white kitchen, and we registered for cream dishes at Crate and Barrel. I really wish we'd gone for bright white-- better for our kitchen and...
This is one of my favorite snacks of all time; it's just fantastic! The plum walnut and blackberry are what I keep going back to. It's such an indulgence.

Sour cream or plain yogurt, which I always miss in one meal or other if I don't have it for a week. I love to mix it with garlic and salt to have with greens, beans and rice, to sub for buttermilk...
I have a recipe that includes double-acting baking powder, but couldn't get any. I read about subbing in the regular stuff online, but I worry about my scones being too bitter. Advice?
Tonight we had a fall tempeh recipe from Whole Foods (http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/recipe.php?recipeId=1782)with an Asian-style Swiss chard sautee.
I recently filled my glass-front cabinet with our prettiest glassware. And, my green Dutch oven is always on our buffet, as is our aqua teapot. As I've gotten my kitchen to where I want it design...
I'm trying to break the habit of having some baked good every evening. Lately, I've been having a yogurt an hour or two before bed. My husband read that a handful of nuts before bed is healthy, s...
For vegans and others, having a big bowl of fruit salad/ cut fruit is nice. I usually bake muffins, because they're good for snacks and breakfasts, plus being an easy way to add a homemade touch.

My favorite crockpot meal is kidney bean and sweet potato chili. I will make it soon, now that fall is arriving!
You read my mind! I was just talking about the differences with my husband; I had never noticed the spelling difference.

This book sounds like one of my very favorites, Simply Seasonal, and I'd love a copy!
