You can repaint tiles but I've never been impressed with the results. Whatever you decide to do can I suggest painting that dark wood trim and that heavy dark shelf white? Or maybe replacing the ...
I like both the lamps, and I like the idea of having one black and one white in the room. Its a little unexpected. I think the problem is that the black lamp really pops out against the white wal...
My first instinct was to suggest recovering the futon, also, in a warm colour pulled from the rug ... something that's more effective with the wood frame and the floor. The carpet and woods are al...
Thank you, everyone, mystery solved! True Blue's link to www.adkinsantiques.com clinched it ... masonry stars is exactly what they are. They're not something we have a lot of use for on the flat ...
Trendy rehabbed row-house inhabited by the nameless drug dealer "hero" (Daniel Craig) in Layer Cake - traditional outside; gorgeously austere industrial-cool bachelor flat inside.
Its gorgeous looking, but I can't see it being comfortable with such a low back. You could add some big bolster cushions or, as someone mentioned, a wedge-shaped cushion back, but I think the wedg...
I'd guess we're all capable of Googling, but I like to read other people's suggestions and ideas. Isn't that the whole point of this site?

Its hard to tell from the pic what shape the fabric is in, but I like the colour and I like the lines. I'd add a sharp white blanket or throw over the back to break up the big chunk of red. Then ...
I bike to and from work and its a pain to roll it through the living room en route to the glass-enclosed balcony, where it hides behind a folding screen (condo rules :P). So it ends up standing by...
I would either paint the wood black or stain it a very dark rich brown to pop against the floor. The current fabric makes me think a baby blue and cream graphic print fabric would be nice; or mayb...

Please, will you folks adopt me?? Every picture I looked at I was like, "Cool!", then "Cooler!!" Gorgeous, gorgeous place.
It's gorgeous - what a find! I'd be tempted first to sand off some of the gold and bring up more of the red underlayer - see how that looks.
Lots of detail shots: not enough room views. Love the sofa. Love the cat shot. Love the tower o' books, but what if you wanted to read one??
There's brick and then there's UGLY brick.

Bilbo's hole in The Lord of the Rings. Not a loft, really, but you could build it in a much taller hill.

Your sofa also looks like it might be the right size for a single-bed-size fitted sheet, for a cheap or temporary fix?

P.S. Maybe, if you use a plywood backing, try wallpaper or fabric stapled on the visible side?
