I got these little ethylene gas guardian eggs in my stocking at Xmas, and they actually really work. I was shocked. My produce has been staying fresh for weeks and weeks at a time.
What constitutes affordable? I got custom shades from Budget Blinds in Park Slope. The price seemed pretty reasonable to me -- not cheap, but not outrageous, either -- and they look great.

I second that, Quercus: Ex Libris Anonymous is great. I've bought many journals from them over the years. And if you send them your own old books it's even cheaper; only $9 with shipping included.
I have fresh lavender growing in my herb garden. It doesn't have any flowers so far. In fact, it looks very similar to rosemary. Can I cook with this or do I need to purchase dried flowers?
