What about a bathroom faucet? Ours, which is so ugly and crappy, leaks and causes slime mold to grow around it (which I wipe away every two days but is still a gigantic pain).

When I do my weekly baking, EVERYTHING that we don't eat immediately goes straight into the freezer. It all gets eaten out of the freezer by the end of the week, so it doesn't go stale or moldy.
I'm with klt108. I just re-read all the Little House books, and surely there was a way Ma made good pie crust without plastic. The whole time I read those books I was struck by all the wonderful th...
This is such a bogus list. The fact that this'll cross more readers's computer screens than the NYT article about the woman whose life was ruined by Ecoli (from over-processed, contaminated hamburg...
Cook's Country apple slab pie (but halving the recipe, I don't really need to FEED 20 PEOPLE, just two): found lovely Cortlands at the market this week.
Dorie Greenspan's simple brioch...
Pretzels. Heartier beer. Oven-roasted vegetables (any), lots of pepper and olive oil. Applesauce muffins. Orange custard pies!
And there'd better be some good Brussels sprouts in this...
Well, I'm tired of plain ol' pie dough crostata/galette/tart posts, but this Southerner had NEVER thought of biscuit dough! Thanks for this post; this one quickly made it onto my Labor Day menu wit...
I'm intrigued by your Long Island recommendation--and this is my favorite Kitchn photo this week! I think I'll put on a summer dress and drag out the cheese board for Labor Day. Thanks for the insp...
The heat broke in Boston on Thursday, so I can just now bear to turn the oven on! I spent Friday afternoon making a pie with some of the first local peaches--I forgot to ask about freestone, so I e...
Anyone who tries to tell me that my husband and I aren't bonding while we watch Jeopardy over dinner is just...wrong. It's my favorite newlywed tradition, and the trivia always sparks some interes...
Could that bag look *more* like a KAF rip-off?
Still, tho, good to hear that it's a good product. Flour is one of the few pantry staples I buy from the Stop N' Shop (KAF all the way!)...
There's a FANTASTIC sugar snap pea and mint salad recipe in the current issue of Cook's Country. Goat cheese and honey are secret ingredients--I made it for a party a couple of weeks ago and it wa...
Washing out the food processor, hands down. Lots of times I'll think about using it (pizza dough, biscuits, pestos, dressings, grinding canned tomatoes) and...will do things by hand because I *hat...
Thank you for sharing this--I made bbq pizza on Friday night, using this sauce, and it was fantastic.
I especially appreciated that the sauce didn't have any vinegar in it. The sauce ...
Here in Boston, I find that I frequent lots of different shops to buy wine: Best Cellars; our locally-owned and operated neighborhood store (ODB, heh); gourmet shops such as Cardullo's; and the big...
Elizabeth P., I can only hope that this and Millay's kitchen indicate you'll be running more "writer's kitchens" posts. They are lovely and inspiring. The Kitchn is one of the most writerly food ...
My father-in-law called us the other night while having a Proustian dinner of macaroni and cheese with peas and ham--apparently, he and my now-husband used to eat this meal after doing yardwork. T...

Those are some beautiful greens--I'll keep my eye peeled for them. Thanks for the cool-ly appealing pictures!
