Ooh, please don't give out $1 gift certificates to McDonalds! Anything you can get there for that price (except coffee, maybe?) is probably worse than a candy bar, not to mention that I doubt a lot...
I also pulled it off in a blender with several-days-frozen bananas. They were already cut into chunks and I didn't need to add anything else...just took the lid off and pushed the chunks down with ...
This is one of the few food preparations I don't like! I think it's because I just prefer salty foods in general. So meat cooked with fruit, no (or sugar in pasta sauce, gross!) But salted caramel,...
I'd be interested in seeing the math for how long it would take before the energy savings of baking bread at home (not transporting it and no packaging) offset the energy used to produce/transport ...
Didn't bother with it. If we had, it would have cost more than the rest of the items on our registry combined. I'd rather our friends and family give us things we'll use on a daily basis.
My first thought was whether they compared the exact same variety of each type of produce. Aren't certain species bred to withstand the chemicals conventional farmers use? Seems to me that an heirl...
Please no Velveeta! If you're going to make it at home, why not use a quality cheese? There must be some with comparable melting properties, though I personally care a lot less about that than I do...
What's up with that picture? Those are three of my favorite foods!
I wish I liked little sea creatures more - mussels and clams and the like are really the only things that don't do it...
I've never used a bowl-lift model, but if you don't plan to store it on the counter, I find that the tilt is somewhat annoying to move around since you pretty much have to pick it up by the base.
Love this! Just moved to a new place and was simultaneously wondering what to do with an old mattress topper and where to get some affordable accent pieces. And I recently learned to knit! Great s...
I was just wondering about this! I just purchased All-Clad's 7 piece set, which includes a skillet but not a saute pan (decided against the 9 piece set, which has both, because of the price) but I'...
If you're not into making more magnets for yourself I'm sure someone else would be, you could sell/give them away to a crafter on Ebay, Etsy or Craigslist.
For those without iphones/blackberries, just wanted to add that I keep a running list in the drafts folder of my email and send it as a text message to my (regular old) cell phone when it's time to...
I don't usually buy OJ but I was just picking some up yesterday and my eyes glazed right over these cartons and focused on the other, more orange-y brands. By the time I realized that the white car...

Looks like another good use for my silicone mini muffin pans. They are a pain to clean, though.
I've been trying to talk my husband into this! I have my eye on a black one for the living room, hopefully it wouldn't look quite so appliance-y.

Agreed. I've been noticing it's cheaper than feta and wondering if it might have a similar use. Thanks for the tip!

I meant to get a dish like this, but I found that stashing them inside one of the coffee mugs hanging behind the sink works just as well!
Amusing, but I'd rather eat the fast food! (which is still not very appealing...)
