Wait -- are the legs perfectly round tubes or something strange like rectangles or ovals? Anything except round, use a nice new hacksaw. They're cheap, worth the investment.
This is actually quite easy. It should cost you between $20 and $40 for everything, maybe less. You'll need a pipe cutter, some masking tape so you don't mar your tubes up too much, something cal...
Barkeeper's Friend would clean that up in no time. It's mildly abrasive and it's acidic... a win win. The inside *should* be either copper or stainless steel... I can't imagine it being anything ...
The best part about it is this video the lighting in that shot clearly indicates the seams in the drywall, so you can see where the studs are just from the shadows... Oh, and there's almost always...
