I've never had luck blanching and freezing beans. When they came out they were mush.

Maybe seasoning cast iron? Though I'm not 100% that bacon grease would be good for that, and I'd consider it borderline cooking - If I was vegetarian its not something I'd do with bacon grease.

I've never thought of putting bacon in the oven. I like to flip with extra long chopsticks. Way easier than tongs.
