That white unit is actually a DIY makeover. My last house didn't have a linen closet and my dad was given this piece by a client. Here's the awful "before" picture.
My children and I lived a mile from my parents for about a year. And for six of those months, my (adult) little sister lived with them. I invaded their space much more often then they did mine.
When I read "pie window", I thought that was what it was actually called. My parents have one right above their stove, where a "pie window" might make sense. I still hate it.
