Re: Bob's most "intense" repair (the whole screen)...instead of a flat bade screwdriver, you can buy a pizza cutter-type tool with a grooved edge. They're cheap and you can wheel along the spline ...

PATRIK from Ikea is similar, but is more suited for the office than the living room. I also found it to be not entirely comfortable, and possibly too narrow in the seat for some:

Does anyone know where to find those "suitcase" and stacking containers that are on the shelving unit? I've only seen the more simple "shoebox" and "tub" variety. We just installed a 4-shelf, 54"...

The Jewett Barn webiste states $900,000...the listing $669,000. Ouch.

Greensgrow totally rocks. I've been buying my plants from them for 5 years. They have a huge selection, and even carry heirloom varieties. Greensgrow has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff,...

What are those hostas eating? They're huge! Lovely space.

I find very little "design" in this entry. It looks like every other suburban tract house yard, except maybe with better furnishings.

That cat looks like it’s up to no good and is going to poo on the bed :)

The framed Exploding Dog prints rock!

I'm an architect. Recently I consulted with a friend who had purchased about $30k worth of cabinets through a kitchen designer. I looked at their plans, which were beautiful, and oooh'd and ahh'd...

Regarding "new pressed tin" -- I have the non-stainless type as a backsplash behind my sink. It was installed by the previous homeowner and has rusted in spots over the years. I guess you can say...

Those are window "jambs" not "casings". Casing is on the interior wall -- it's the trim that goes around the window. Lovely idea though.

Ditto - Poang! I keep telling my sister to save hers because it might be worth a (very) small fortune in another 30 years :)

I use 60" also. You can imagine my chagrin when I went to my boyfriend's place for the first time and there was no consistency whatsoever. He used somewhere between 72" and 80" for 36x48 posters....
