It's a very nice table, but if you want to paint it a bright color, I'd go with lime green. I've seen lime green work with blue/turquoise, and also with brown.
Although it's easy to maintain, pleather sort of sticks to damp skin. How about a seating pad made out of two layers of really thick towel? You can always dry it in the sun and throw it in the wa...

I often can't find mine, so I use a sandwich knife. Works just as well.
