Cinnamon. I know this is not original, but this flavors always remind me of my grandmother's spiced cookies. Each one had a single cinnamon red hot on top.
I would first make a batch of margaritas to "christen" the blender. Then, I would make a really smooth tomato sauce. I normally like them chunky, but a velvety smooth sauce would be a nice treat.
I would make spicy molasses cookies, and glaze them with a dark rum/powdered sugar mixture. I got this recipe from Cook's Illustrated and its fantastic!
I am a poor graduate student. A Le Crueset pannini press would add a touch of class to my standard grilled cheese dinner.... Plus, green is such a festive color for the winter.
