I'm going to be moving into a studio apartment soon and need an inexpensive desk with lots of storage. I am a college student so I mean it when I say inexpensive.

If they attached cushions around each individual piece of wood then it would still have the holes in between each piece but would be much more comfortable to sit or lie on.
