"Sh!t on a shingle" (chipped beef on toast) was also an Army staple, at least in the 50's when my dad was a member.

We only use the pack-n-play a few times a year when we travel. I don't care how ugly it is. If we used it constantly, I would think about a cover for looks and ease of cleaning.
