Yeah, after the ladies climbed the stairs, they'd have to rest for a bit in a small room at the top of the stairs that had a little chaise or sofa, a.k.a. the "fainting room."
What about a light box hung (or mounted) on one of the walls? It's feels really new and contemporary (maybe not your style) but could almost feel like a "window" on one of the long walls.

Ooh, I got a $2.99 succulent garden from TJ's about a month ago and about 80% of the clippings they used for it died within a week. The last little bits have recovered and are growing back, but it ...

Why not black instead? It might blend in better with the bevels on your cabinet doors and make your countertops and appliances really pop.
I love the label so much--I have an empty bottle on a shelf in my kitchen.
I love the poster--where's it from?
Ecover seems to be everywhere now, which makes it easy to find. And Trader Joe's-brand cleaning products can't be beat for value.
Paint the bed black, the dresser red, and the mirror gold or silver. Lose the lace valances and put some art on the walls.

I'd use it to clean up the kitty tumbleweeds created by my shedmaster cat, Mister Chino!
I love kangaroo paw! Whenever Trader Joe's has it, I make a point to get some. It lasts for a while in a vase.
These things practically saved my life during a summer in Japan last year!
