I just bought 2 of these (one was by accident b/c the saleswoman at Ikea rang us up for an extra one). I must say, we were pretty pissed after realizing we had 2, but they're actually pretty hands...

I think a nice floor lamp or reading lamp would be great next to the sofa, or on the end table. I really like cb2's lamps (and they're pretty affordable for how cool they are):
