I'm surprised everyone loves it. I wonder if the neighbors' opinion hadn't been included if the response would have been the same.
The garage already dominates the house by design. Pa...
I read somewhere that the hangers with the spring aren't good for the plates -- the constant pressure can lead to cracking. There are adhesive hangers that I have had good luck with or you can make...
Jeez people. How often are you cleaning your toilets?
And if spitting in the toilet is like licking it, then what is typically done in a toilet is like what? A porcelain colonoscopy?
I wish I had bars on my windows. That way I could sleep with windows open.
While everything is negotiable, I like having:
- natural light
- hardwood floors
- solid in...
Eastern Market is my "home" market and it is fabulous. I love the dairy - the best milk and butter -- and there are a couple of vendors that sell good local produce.
I enjoy going to...
This isn't what you were asking, but how about making a piece of art to represent the ribbons and storing the ribbons somewhere safe.
I can't remember where I saw it but I saw a photo...
Mid-C Frank -- you are right there is a lot of mid-century in SW and it's horrible. L'Enfant Plaza (the irony of the name!) is terrible on so many levels. I worked in it for 5 years. It's so close ...
The building should go. I appreciate the architectural significance, but it can no longer serve the pupose for which it was built and it provides a terrible streeetscape. Let's take some photos and...
Oh, but don't grass fed cattle produce less milk and more methane. So more cows are needed and those cows produce more methane. Are there any easy answers?
I usually just wrap everything in cling wrap. I leave the roller in the tray and wrap it all up, but brushes separately. It's always been fine for a day or so.
Very cute! And I like the sushi pillow. My sister-in-law and I made a sushi costume for her then three month old son that consisted of a shrimp pillow -- I never thought to use it as decoration (of...
Great post. I had no idea -- and I've lived in DC for awhile. The fact that these are in (I assume) the very institutional looking Dept. of State building makes hem even more interesting.
The Building Museum is fab -- the building alone is amazing. It's probably not on very many people's short list of places to visit in DC, but should be for those interested in architecture and design.

Wow, now I guess there's a reason to hang out in Pentagon City.

So when you have people over and break out the wine, you have to look at a bare bulb?

No on 98!
FYI -- There's a great green roof group in DC. Greenworks is a non-profit that designs and installs green roofs and serves as a job training program.

"Barn stars" are different. They are large metal stars that were put on barns for decoration. http://www.tinntreasures.com/...

Oh, this takes me back to a good Southern craft fair -- next tater/onion boxes! All in all -- practical and kind of ingenious I suppose though.
