On a side note - where did those great colored pencils come from?

I have had mine for seven years now (with middle legs) and no problems. Of course we're not huge people. My son uses it the most.

My son would kill for that galaxy quilt!

"Your Big Backyard" put out by the National Wildlife Federation is a great monthly magazine. My son received a subscription to it from my parents when he turned 3 and is still loving it at 5. Besid...

When I dream about moving back to NYC this is EXACTLY how I picture my studio. Quirky, textured, saturated, intellectual, collected and amazing! Nicely done!

Absolutely wonderful. You're the first contestant whose photos I want for inspiration file.

We started with a red and yellow room for our son's nursery. He's five now and still loves the color. He says it makes it feel cozy and warm.

This one, from ikea, reminded me of an old school clock so I got it for our kitchen. It's easy to read (12" wide) and my son learned to tell time using it. Plus, it was 19.99 and runs on batteries....

Instead of using tissue paper I've made the flowers with plastic grocery bags - one more idea on how to reuse them. Somehow even with my canvas bags I always end up with some!

As a guest, I'd rather have to deal with no headboard/possible pillow loss, than sleeping on an air mattress on the floor. Besides, I'd want to lay along the wall with those incredible windows and ...

That is superb! I think this is one of the best transformations I've ever seen - and not just glider transformations. ALL of the "before and afters" on this site. Wow. Well done!

I've heard that most (pre)schools require that a child be potty trained for legal reasons (teachers contact with children, etc.) Daycare centers fall under different regulations. Perso...

I have a land line because in an emergency my son knows where to find it and how to use it. He'd never find my cell phone - it could be anywhere. Also, our security system runs through it.

"I never understood the IKEA living rooms that have walls covered in cabinets. Who does that?" People who live in small homes with little to no closet space- and have children.

I like your place. If I could add just one suggestion - instead of having the round mirror with the floating shelf try either a huge vertically oriented poster, mirror or painting, or a piece of ta...

Unless I'm mistaken, which I very well could be, washing your clothes with soap (even, gasp!, environmentally safe detergent) is what gets rid of the ickies in your laundry. Afterall, surgeons don'...
