have your tried first dibs? i've haggled alot with sellers there and it can work. you can search by city so you could find some local shops and visit them in person.
local zoo's - like the oakland zoo here in the bay, also take donations of household items for the animals.
I know they have acceted towels, non-broken kids toys, ride-on's and kiddie...
i would LOVE more info on the 2 prints: the one with the faces and the grouping of birds... artists? where you got them? etc.

As for the early "potty training". it's really common everywhere but the states. Try looking for EC (elimination communication) on the web and you'll find some great info about the growing movement...

we use g diapers and they are the only cradle to cradle certified diaper on the market currently!

we have the ikea one, that looks very, similar mentioned in many of the posts- only downside is the tray is almost impossible to remove so keep that in mind. otherwise it's a great little chair......

replace all the hardware- maybe glass knobs? and paper the inside or paint with a bright fun color. nice piece- lots of potential!
