I have "no-stay" spray that I use on my rug after the cat soiled it and it seems to work in keeping her off the rug - that might help a little bit, at least in the short term.
i find nature's miracle doesn't do such a great job on cat urine and the smell is still there after using it (which means the cat will probably reoffend), does anyone have any other recommendations?

Have you tried using one of those anti-tracking pads outside the box? I like the crystals but if one gets out and you step on it, OUCH!
