What do you think about stacking 2 on top of each other instead of legs? Are windows are high enough this might work, but I wonder if it would look weird.

Is the batting necessary? We have a new dining room set and I'd like to cover the seats with a new fabric. The batting seems necessary for an old chair that needs a little oomph.

I second the Walmart comment. We have that rug and it is really close to the one you like.

I think the Unclutterer has some really great examples of small, but functional workspaces, many of them in bedrooms. It's hard because you're trying to create a place that you both sleep AND work....
