the oxo silicone one is phenomenal! bought it at target and it is by far the best one i've ever used for pancakes! i don't even grease the griddle and it lifts them with ease every time

i covered the seats of my dining chairs with regular weight cotton twill (fell in love with the fabric) and they've held up great so far...only been about 9 months though...
definitely paint them...love the high gloss white idea or a fun contrast color to brighten up the room (if you like that sort of thing). just make sure to sand at least enough to break the current...
i got the LA poster from ork and LOVE it! A standard frame fits it perfectly and it's such a unique piece. wish i could find more LA themed art like it...

i've used lavender oil on a light bulb...just a drop...but works fantastically! maybe it's better with a natural scent than perfume.
