As rosenatti said, I wish I had your problem! You have a really nice kitchen! However, I know what you mean about the big, blank wall. I would paint it a bright, cheery ochre yellow an...

Gorgeous! Although, until I got to the pic with the guitars, the "sans shirt" clue made me guess it was David Hasselhoff. If anyone has to have my dream house, much better Flea than The Hoff!

I hate to be petty, but I'm going to go ahead and nitpick anyway. Kitchy? Do you mean kitschy ? Is anyone editing these posts before they go up?

First of all, your description of your decorating angst made me laugh, so thank you for that! We've all been there. Everything's been said already, but I'll say it again: Please paint ...

This is nicer than my indoor living room!

Are you sure it's the furniture you love and not the architectural details of the house? The furniture itself does not seem very remarkable to me; similar stuff can be found at just about any chai...

Start by painting a feature wall and live with that for awhile. You can always paint the rest of your walls later if you still love it. Or you might find that just one wall does it for you.

Another vote for Borax! I use that in the bowl and then wipe the outside and seat off with vinegar and water. No fancy cleaning potion required.

I do this too! Drives my boyfriend crazy, but it keeps my cashmere safe. Bepsf--I think anna was referring to the larvae. The freezer apparently kills them.

How about a couple of these cotton/linen shower curtains?

Keep in mind that if you paint the brick, you're committing to re-painting it every few years for the entire time you own the house. Do you hate the natural brick so much that it's worth all that t...

Oh, yeah. I also vote for dark legs!

Gorgeous! What a transformation. I asked my local green building supply store about SoyGel awhile back and they said they refused to carry it. According to them, it's just a run-of-the...

This is lovely--both serene and inviting. It must be so nice to have this oasis in NYC! I love how you've incorporated all those clever space-saving storage elements.

This may not pass muster with the AT Safety Police, but I think it looks fun. If you look back on your childhood, I'm sure you will remember devising all manner of much more dangerous (and fun!) ac...

People, she's asking what shade of white she should use, not whether she should paint it or not! Obviously, she's lived with it for some time as is and decided she wants it white. I am...

I think part of the idea is that you can plant things that need a lot of depth for their roots at the top, such as tomatoes, and plants that need less soil depth at the bottom.
