4 camping chairs (2 of which I want to return to my ex-husband)
1 hermann miller desk chair
2 antique low-to-the-floor afghani chairs
1 other office chair (wh...
I am in love with it. I seriously want to have kids just so I can make a whimsical fort like this. All the restraint I use in my own decorating, out the window!!! So much room for imagination and c...
I'm impatient so I cut mine into chunks for faster cooking, and toss them with olive oil in a hot oven (like 400). Then a bit before they're done, I add in some maple syrup and toss them a bit so ...
Wow, this post got a lot of action!
Frankly, this place isn't my style. It feels very plastic and cheap to me, but then I'm not there in person to catch the real ambiance. The bed with...
I splurge on art books. For visual stuff, I like to have it in my hands, see the colors and full-size pages. And now that kindle is available as an iphone app, if I absolutely have to buy a for-rea...
My 3 essentials:
*MacBook Pro
*iPhone (BTW, you can now get a free Kindle app for it - my first book that I bought was the Apartment Cure!!!!)
*Canon G7 (I need a camera fo...
I think it works. Think of all the people in the world who have a family of 5 in a one room home and all sleep, eat, and even work from that space. The idea that we need to have these huge spaces w...
I love seeing "artifacts" actually being used. It makes a space so much more livable, and honors the item as well by extending it's active life. This space is pretty amazing, although I must say it...
I'm a little late here, but I just thought I'd chime in. I don't think that fireplace will substantially increase a home's value. I agree it's not the best idea to paint the wood, but I have to say...
May I suggest a furoshiki (the japanese cloth which you can use to wrap a bottle or other gift). They're colorful and reusable and people are always impressed by the folding and knotting possibilit...
Just got rid of a laptop bag and an old light fixture that were sitting in an ugly box for months (which annoyed me every time I walked in that room). Took out the trash/recycling. The greatest jou...
It looks really nice with the dark walls and bright accents. I think the sheepskin and antlers are "green" if they were not purchased for the makeover, i.e. they were something that the person alre...
I agree with many of the posters here that these rooms are just a little too cluttered with color. I think what could help would be sticking to a more monochromatic theme. Moroccan interiors in the...
That photo looks like it was taken at Flora Grubb (a nursery and amazing designy place) in San Francisco. A little moroccan tile and wrought iron table I got from them is now used indoors as a tea...

P.S. I think it looks great! Very bright and spacious. I'd love to work in there.
