I've been looking for a reasonably priced public school-style clock like the one in picture #3. Where's a good place for something like that? Craigslist has been a bust.
First or third. The second one is an awful picture and, in general, people who take terrible careless pictures also sell junk. I'll bet that it looks a lot worse in person than it does in the photo.
Cats like peeing on bath mats, especially those with rubber backs. I seriously doubt it's a sign of health or behavioral problems. Get a bath mat that's all cloth and I'll bet he stops.
Yeah, Arlington was actually a lot better location. Parking was okay and it was really, really close to the Courthouse metro stop. Unless you actually live in Georgetown this is a step back.
"Camp" or "kitsch" might be a better word than ironic but I like the painting. This is 100 times better than a lame art nouveau print or generic toothless faux modern print.
DC proper is NOT a good place to raise kids unless you're wealthy enough to afford private school. If you have kids and still want an urban lifestyle, Arlington, Alexandria, Bethesda, Silver Sprin...
There are some devices (TVs and cables boxes especially) that might be better left plugged in. They need power to retain settings, update TV guide data, etc.

Aesthetic considerations aside, most definitely eye-level while seated.
I can't believe it's still there. I remember my dad dragging me into that place when I was a little kid.

Wouldn't the TV console block the remote sensor? How would you change the channel, turn it on, etc? It's a nice idea though.

I've always heard that you shouldn't use Murphy's on floors with a polyurethane finish (which is the most common).
