I agree with pronetowonder, I was going to suggest Portland. Great food, culture, largest Japanese Garden outside of Japan, small nice zoo (with a small train for the kids), one hour from the coast...

I just received mine today and I must say they are pretty cool. I can see these being fun for more than holding food, for instance as a great sandbox or beach toy. Kids are so imaginative I'm sure ...

We have an ergo and a bjorn was given to us. My husband used the ergo first, with the infant insert, for almost 2 months. He just recently tried the bjorn and HATED it, wanted to rip it off of hims...

I have to say, I love this photo. There is just something about it that is so pure and natural. I hope to skip rope with my boy someday while my husband watches smiling.

Interesting, I had read on diaperpin.com that Borax Washing Soda breaks down cloth diapers and baking soda should be added to the wash instead. So I have been washing the baby clothes & diapers in ...

We did the same, took only used items we thought we would use and registered carefully. I was determined to be a minimalist about the whole thing. And we were fortunate enough to have people giving...

I have no idea how you bring your laptop into the kitchen without fear of an accident, so brave! I just couldn't do it so I either print out what I'm working from or run back and forth to the livin...

emilymch - I agree with you. US families have had playpens for years and they only recently were called playards. My mom always raves about how great my sister was in the playpen and it was ...

I like this a lot. I can't read the labels, I am curious what the steel bins are for, small items like socks? I see sheets but wondering what else could go in those. Are those also from Ikea? Very ...

I guess I don't understand what the definition of "wall sculpture" is. When does something cross the line from just being a toy mounted on the wall to "sculpture"?

I would also like to know where to find the rail rider changing accessory for the crib!! Thanks Charlie

Anyone have a Britax Verve Stroller? Any thoughts on it? Thanks! Charlie

I live in Portland and have to say it's a great city. You see so many women babywearing. Plus my husband and I went to a Baby Expo here sponsored by Gentle Birth and there were a million midwives t...

My aunt also gave her adopted son the option of changing his name and he did, from Marshall to Wayne. It was part of shedding his old life which was quite harrowing, he was nine when adopted.

Janie - You are a wonderful and fabulous person! Thanks so much for the link. I looked through so many tours yesterday with no luck. Thanks again!

Thans monika1. We are still searching for it, it didn't win but was a nursery that I thought was entered into the contest. The most distinctive piece in the room was a round orange and turquoise ru...
