I'm just finishing up a batch of limoncello made with meyer lemons. I prefer the method of using 100-proof vodka and longer extraction time to that of using grain alcohol. The result is much smoother.
leepert,
Great link with the details! I've seen that model referred to on various kitchen forums, but had no idea how well it worked in practice. I'm also kinda curious about the way t...
leepert,
GE does, in fact, make an under-the-sink dishwasher. I can't imagine how much space inside you'd have inside, but they're definitely not pulling anyone's leg.
Ikea cabinets are ridiculously easy to hang/install and are meant to be DIY. The Arlig door is the cheapest and fits your white preference. Glass doors are nice, but I'd give up those up before any...
I feel much better using a newer energy-efficient dishwasher. According to my manual, it uses 3.5 gallons for the economy/delicate cycle, which I almost always use. I don't think I could possibly u...
I have the Progressive one in the middle. I paid around $5-7 for it at Ross or TJMaxx, but I don't think I'd pay $14. It works as well as standing your herbs up in a glass and putting the produce b...

Elizabeth P: I've become a fan of the copper Chore Boy scrubber. It does the trick on my aluminum and cast iron cookware and it doesn't rust. Granted, it's one more cleaning tool in the sink, but ...
I love my white and avocado green electric knife I bought 10 years ago from an estate sale for $1. I use it primarily for slicing homemade bread or slicing mini baguettes for appetizers. However, I...
I hope that Epicuro white is much better than one of the red varieties I had a few weeks ago. It had no depth or anything to speak of. I wish I could remember which one it was.
Not specifically a cookware stand, but I've been using this to hold two colorful baskets for recycling and two casseroles. It has a very small footprint (12"x13").
I agree with the suggestion to get an induction top for as an extra burner (if you have some place to store it). I have two, and by shopping around, I've only paid around $100 apiece for them. Also...
I use dry vermouth for cooking, as well. It stays around longer than the white wine that I will inevitably drink, then curse myself when I don't have any for cooking!

This is the thing I was talking about in my above post. Seems you can still get them at other retailers.

I've had my trusty Braun for 13 years now but have been checking out the Bamix as a future purchase if the Braun ever dies on me.
