I think the black would look really nice against the fabric. And I like the idea of red, too. You could cover the fabric with a tarp and secure it with painter's tape.

I do this, too. I share a laundry basket with my son and wash my delicates along with his socks in the mesh bag.

My third grade teacher did that for our class, back in the 1980s. It must have worked, because whenever I see a little pom-pom now, I get so excited. What a great idea!

Hmm, I'm willing to bet Martha Stewart's closet is not "organzied." :)

I worry about the mold, too. I have never found a drying rack I love, so I just gave up and use a dishtowel.

This is so lovely!

My one-year-old loves white noise, which we've used since he was a newborn. When he slept in our room we used a DVD recording of static, and it played continuously all night long. Now, he listens...

That Peter Pan creeps me out.

I really love this! I usually find children's murals to be too overpowering in a smaller room, but this one is dramatic in a quiet way. Very well done.

I don't really have any decorating advice, but my son slept in our bedroom until he was 9 months old. His crib was set up like the one pictured, in front of our large bedroom window. We moved him...

I second the idea of blue or red curtains. You could then move the white curtains to another room.

So lovely!

My sister just painted one wall of her living room a similar color. At first, I wasn't sure what to think, but now I love it. It's very fresh!

We have a mantle and fireplace, but our soon-to-be-one-year-old would easily destroy the stockings there. So, we hang them on the wall next to our Christmas tree in the living room.

We have my in-laws' hand-me-down artificial tree and love it. They got a pre-lit one in its place, but ours looks like a real tree, minus the scent. People always assume it's real.

I agree with JG. I was able to complete a discontinued pattern inexpensively through eBay.

We had a few crashers at our wedding, too. They were friends of friends, but not people we knew very well at all, so I was surprised that they would even show up!

I like staying home and shopping online. I can usually knock out most of my Christmas list this way. My mom and sisters are trying to persuade me to go this Friday, and I'm already nervous about ...

I didn't know that about Oriental bittersweet. I think I cut some off a tree behind my house recently to display in a vase. My son and I collect acorns on our morning walks, and I love the big bo...

I thought it was a lamp when I first saw it, too. I like it as a towel holder. Very eye-catching!
