Neutopian - no, no one can explain it legally. Because you cannot legally prevent photography inside a shop that is open to the public. You can *pretend* that it's not all...

Fixed - thanks!

Incorrect link. This was supposed to be about laundry, and it is a canteen.

Another huge problem is that kids aren't outside playing all day anymore. They're inside watching TV or playing video games. Surely the 2-3 hours I spent every day running around are ...

This is the most prissy, squeamish group of comments I've seen in an awfully long time. Are you all really that uncomfortable with your bodies and their various functions? So sad for you!

What's going on with the stuff that looks like taupe-colored tape in all the mortar on the left?

For us, price and neighborhood are givens, and we're just finding the right place. The perfect place has: 1. parking 2. dishwasher 3. washer/dryer in unit 4. hardwoo...

As someone who often walks several miles during errand-running, no, I cannot always just carry all of my purchases. City living often requires major hauling of bags (reusable or not) for many, man...

I usually dislike this kind of reuse-thing-as-a-lamp hack, but this? Love.

Yup, Jered - a grill chimney has been available (your own hack or from the store) for years, for just this purpose! They work perfectly, are very easy to use, and last practically forever.

Or, buy a chimney - infinitely reusable, no lighter fluid, and no wasteful packaging every time you want to light up the grill. No messier, either. You can use your own charcoal, so you can use a...

Yes - that's true. Oats themselves are gluten-free, but they're usually processed in plants that also process wheat, so the final product is seldom gluten-free. If you want gluten-fre...

What is the thing on the left hand side of the picture? It looks like an old-style gymnastics horse from this angle. Those floors are fabulous.

I like buttermilk dressing - creamy and tangy!

My husband plays in a band (has since he was a teenager, 30-odd years ago). And he's been collecting LP's that entire time, too. I have LP's from my youth, as well - my teen years were before CD'...

I love the inside of the house (save the taxidermy). But the outside is an eyesore among all those beautiful little bungalows in glen park! Did you see the picture in the chron of it ...

oh! I just saw this is a stove only, with no cooktop. I can see why quiltmaster thought it was a regular range, though. since I made the same mistake!

Jeanine, That stove looks like it has a good hood - I bet that helps a lot! I've never had a fancy hood, so open shelving doesn't work as well for me. Your kitchen is beautiful.

yes, gretchen - this only happens to stuff above the stove, the lower cabinets aren't affected. I should have been clearer. I guess I pan fry a lot! And I do love my stovetop grill!
