Its not very likely they are powder post beetles, they tend to only go for new wood (almost exclusivly) its more than likely furniture or death watch beetles and 2 weeks in a freezer will kill them...
I was just wondering if you use specifically tins that held liquid as they might be less likely to rust? Just thinking how creative you could get with the range of containers you could use.
Please please please don't put them in the oven.
