Remove the shelves and buy Ikea Billy bookcases. They are surprisingly sturdy. And you can use a pop of color on the back of the bookcases with fabric, wallpaper or paint.

Upon further inspection turns out that the cabinets are laminate and not wood at all. And definitely not in the best condition.

Ummm is it recyclable? Because if not, it isn't very "eco-friendly". It may be made from recycled content but you're still throwing it in the trash.

Some ceiling fans can look nice but this one is still ugly. Should have spraypainted the ugly gold and went with a less busy pattern.
