I agree, the serenity of the entirely blue wall makes the casual stacks of books just marvelous in comparison.
In our non-working fireplace we have a massive dollhouse that didn't fi...
Complainypants...are you travelling solo? This is how I did it: baby in the sling and car seat in the stroller. Gate check both the seat and stroller if there's not an empty seat on the plane. R...

I would not "discipline" them in front of their parents. Especially don't say "no." But don't sit back and wait for the parents to step up, either. Say things like, "Would you like to look at th...
I can only imagine the pouting, crying tantrum of disappointment...no logical explanation would suffice to make it better that the party is not, after all, going to happen today. The kids would ra...
Life has alot less spills to clean up if cups and food are kept at the table and not toted around the house all day. No-spill sippy cups truly are not needed.

We bought a simialr vintage, similarly architecturally significant home in the midwest two years ago. It's likely being sold as is due to structural issues. We just spent too much making sure our...
We have these from Magic Cabin. We like the modern look. The cradle comes with a little pillow and duvet---so cute. The high chair can be used two ways.
The biggest hit ever at one of our parties was a jumping contest. Seriously. Even the lone dad at the party got into it. We laid two jump ropes parallel to each other on the ground and everyone ...
I'm throwing a shower next month for my sister. Instead of a game we'll be passing around a "baby's 1st year" calendar and a list of "firsts" (first tooth, first steps, etc.). We'll ask each gues...

What's with the metal edging on the shelves and beams? I don't think it quite achieves the effect they were going for.

Love it. It looks very crisp. Dark colors in small rooms is a favorite trick of mine. Don't be afraid of the dark!
I think the smaller holes maybe aren't covered??? Looks pretty clunky overall.
What about storing toys in the dryer? Now, that's alarming! Do you know how many kids get trapped in a dryer each year?! ;)
