I don't know who said that farting in China/Japan is a compliment to the chef, but they were pulling your leg. A small discrete burp maybe, but no way on farting. The rice/chopsticks hint is corr...
A beautiful desk that's adjustable but short enough for me to use! Of course it's not available here and probably is way out of my price range. Aaaaarg.
I'm guessing "under 20" since we normally produce one trash bag per week for the 2 of us. The only time we do more than 1 bag is if we eat a lot of take out, and the takeout boxes take up a lot of...
I agree w/ VickyA -- it may be break resistant, but I wouldn't want to risk it with something that I would almost always handle with wet hands. I'd rather use it to dispense oil for cooking.
Lovely, but I prefer my Bodum glass canisters. Wide mouth so that I can scoop a dry goods measuring cup into it, snug lids that I can open with one hand (assuming there's enough stuff in the jar t...
If you're lucky enough to know where old billboards go to die (we knew a guy who knew a guy when we lived in Houston), those materials are outdoor hardy and would make a great outdoor tablecloth --...
The picture is kind of small, so I can't really see details. That said, I love touches of unique wood in a room. IMO, staining it a dark brown would obscure the character of the wood.
Like you said, these are everywhere in Asia. I've always wondered why you don't see them more in the US.
In our house, the bedroom units were usually mounted over the bed. That way...
I recall a previous thread where a decorator wanted to buy books to fill a customer's library, and many people went nuts at the idea of someone having a library full of books that they didn't/would...

Or imagine having to redo the grout 10yrs later! Mosaics are lovely, but no way do I want to do the cleaning & maintenance!
FWIW, I recently noticed the Dyson animal vac on sale at my local Target; it was ~$50 off.

My bordering-on-obsolete personal 12" Powerbook or my work Dell D420.
I love the chairs in the top picture! I assume that they're vintage chairs that they recovered.

I must like my mangos riper than twylag does, b/c the Oxo mango cutter just reduces my mangos to a pile of mush and juice. Not worth the money IMO.
Errr, "glyphs" -- not "glphys".
