Do the black wood and zebra, but strip the wood, sand it a bit, then STAIN it black instead of paint it so that you can see the wood grain. Seal it with a salad bowl finish, it's a little bit gloss...
First of all, change the brass hotel style reading lamps flanking the bed. You could try some more modern sconces to balance the Barcelona chair. I'd go with black to balance the curtain rods.
