Consider your beige carpeting a "backdrop" for your other items to "pop" with. Use a colorful area rug and furnishings and artwork to make it all flow together.

How about some bamboo roman shades? They fold up to the desired opening you want, but yet when closed, still allow light to filter through? I'm a bit concerned why you want floor length as well.....
