I made Basil Ice Cream that was a big hit (google a recipe).
Another good way to capture all those extra garden herbs while the season is hot... herbed butter. Just takes a few sticks ...
Megbot.. look around. I still see brown bread in the can. Good molasses flavor I loved as a kid. And yes, we ate it with baked beans. In fact, I think you'll find it near the baked beans in the store.
My favorite PDQ bread will always be Beer Bread. It's quick, easy, and so very, very tasty. There are multiple recipes around... search one out and try it!
I'm pretty sure I'd qualify this under "Depth" but I like to add a dollop of Hoisin Sauce to many things to kick up the flavor a bit.
Also... when all else fails, add some prepared Cur...
