We've done this before. We attached two rods at the ceiling with drop in brackets. The fabric has rod pockets at both insertion points for the fabric.

My boyfriend and I were just discussing this.. So in one instance 8ft is too low, in the next it's too high. To start, 8ft isn't a very high ceiling to begin with.. That's just stupid!

Painting a rug?

Just because something is floating in a room does not make it balanced. It looks like a room that is about to be painted, and the canopy is the tarp.

For a hotel, lounge, or anything like that I think it's great! Definitely, gives people something to talk about...while sipping a cocktail!

Solar shades or romans. Top down/bottom up can get really sloppy with all those strings.. And, if they get slipped off track slightly...They look terrible.
