About ten years ago, I lived in a cheap apartment in a not so nice part of Harlem. I caught two junkies trying to break into my apartment with a butter knife. I will always lock my door.
I think this is a fantastic idea for a little kid, but I could never do it. I like a bed to be as high off of the floor as possible. That being said, that gypsy-ish room would be a really cute idea...
This is my boyfriend's patented companies-coming-over dip/spread. We've served it with bagels, with thin toast, with crackers, everything. And it's always the first thing that's gone.
No basting here, either. We also use the Alton Brown recipe. Last year, our first Thanksgiving dinner, we actually had the laptop out while dressing and making the brine. And in the morning, the fa...
I went to the flower district and bought a $7 tall tin pot with handles. It fits 4 umbrellas, the small space in my hallway, and looks great. $100 for an umbrella holder?
I'm a real estate agent in NYC, and a letter of employment, excellent credit and meeting with the landlord is required, not an option. The best thing to separate you from the rest of the pack is ha...
I eat them out of the pods, they're addictive to me. Then I usually keep the seeds and dry them a little on the windowsill and when I have enough, put them on top of indoor plant soil. They look pr...
I've been trying to make my own, and I think I'm getting there, but the best in NYC is at the Edison Hotel Cafe, in midtown. If I'm sick, it fixes me. I swear it's the dill, but it's better than my...
I bought a littermaid electric one a few years back, and it was the worst purchase ever. The litter was always sticking and clumping, it would scare the cats ... Now I use a $5 litter box and chang...
If you're in or around Pittsburgh, go to Hunt Stained glass. They are amazing, and can do pretty much anything. It's a lost art, and the quality of these are really stunning.
I've noticed that a lot of modern design is low to the floor, be it beds, sofas, chairs, etc. I don't get it, and I really don't like it. Maybe it's the wannabe Goldilocks in me, but I want to clim...
Seriously, this thing is $125. Why not get something that will last used off of craigslist? I don't understand the whole Ikea obsession. It's ugly, expensive crap (With the exception of their kitch...
I love it. Most of the stuff on here is stark & modern, which I hate. This is cozy, warm and insane. My kind of style. It's her personality - and it's the most fantastic apartment I've seen. ...
Just make sure your cats don't eat it - If it's hanging on your shower you should be fine. My bathroom smells great all of the time, and it's cheap($2.50 for a huge cluster at my Harlem flower shop).

I think the links are the post. Put a little effort into it, and give me some new ideas. Don't just trackback to old ones.
I use my mom's 1965 Better Homes and Gardens all the time. She's also written in family recipes for me, and it has great pictures!

I live in Harlem, and let me tell you, this is the best hangover food in the world. It tastes like heaven.

This makes me really sad. She took a beautiful piece of antique furniture and killed it. I don't understand this.

I just started a window garden, and I'd use this for the fresh rosemary, sage and parsley. And, basically, everything else. YUM!
I live in Harlem, so this is what Broadway looks like 2 or three times a day... I still love it though.
