Definitely Seed Savers. Heirloom veggies FTW!

I'm definitely somewhere in between rustic and historic, though depending on the apartment, the decor doesn't always lend itself to the image in my head.

My husband gave me a bottle of tupelo honey (heavenly) and a salt cellar! Not extravagant, but definitely two of my favorite gifts!

Religiously, Solstices and Equinoxes are big days for me. I look forward to traditional activities of food, friends and family, and enjoying time outdoors... though Winter Solstice always means a l...

I just fell in love with Nudo Italia. Maybe I shouldn't be buying presents for myself so close to the holidays, but I couldn't resist my "own" olive tree!

I love these weekend meditation. They always leave me with so much to think about!

We had almost the exact same situation, though our freezer is upright. When moving to a smaller place, we made the tough decision between living with the freezer in our bedroom, or doing without th...

We season oven fries with HdP, sea salt and cracked black pepper. Yum!

I think it is too weird to NOT be considered cool... but apparently the battery inside cannot be replaced.

LOVE Misto! I'm only on my first filling (and we use it with canola to replace our name-brand non-stick baking spray), but so far, it has worked perfectly!

My two life-changers are The North African Kitchen and 1080 Recipes. They opened my eyes to a world of foreign food that wasn't simply Americanized Italian or Mexican cuisine!

I made my first ever cake and chocolate icing from scratch! (It was only the recipes from the side of a cocoa can, but it was tasty and I was so proud!)

I agree with the above posters. Plants *usually* get leggy when they aren't receiving enough light. They are, in effect, "reaching" for more!

I made my first successful batch of granola! I know that this isn't very impressive to all of the accomplished foodies out there, but for a household dependent on store-bought cereals, my first hom...

The great thing about nasturtiums (besides the fact that they are tasty) is that they help keep pests away from plants like tomatoes and peppers. Win-win!
