How about the Panton chairs by Verner Panton (From Vitra), not slim line but easy to clean and they would look so good with the antique table. Here's a great example of a similar combo.

I keep my dryer and my straightening iron on top of the radiator but our bathrobes cover it so I guess it's put away...
