I think you have done a wonderful job. To me, every inch of your house communicates the care that you put into it - not just furnishing it, but keeping it clean and orderly and cheery.
If I had room, I would really like to have a small straight-back chair to sit on while getting dressed. Where do you chairless folks sit to put on your shoes?
I think these crates are an invitation to start a random junk pile. Is there some problem hanging things up?
Also the crates look dirty and splintery. I guess I must be grouchy today.
Unless you get something really cheapo badly-made, I wouldn't worry about claw damage to the rug. But I'd never get anything fluffy or shag - imagine cleaning up cat throw-up from a shag. Yuck.
Pooh! you and me! I am going to send a picture to AT. I bought an incredible turquoise Natuzzi chair on craigslist and next to it I sat one of those Ikea shiny-red-powder-coat locker-style crede...

Wow, that red is really horrible, isn't it? I never think of gray first off, as I like warm palettes, but here it seems it could definitely work. Or a warm sand color.
To me, the p...
Two bottom ones are way too shaggy for my taste, and probably yours. The one on the top right might reflect the light the same way the one in your inspiration photo does.
Are you go...
Sheers are wonderful, and anyone at all with access to a sewing machine can run up a few pairs of tab tops. That gives one even more access to texture and drape of the fabric. Nice rooms.

Those Reality Companies are probably helpful too. In fact, I think I'm going to start one here in Pittsburgh :)
I must confess, I just don't get the empty frames thing. To me, it looks like the frame corner of the local thrift shop.
And shouldn't one be able to actually play it?
Is the house currently occupied? It looks so terribly empty. The house itself is very nice, but I want to give the owners a few possessions....

The first two photos are quite striking. I think, though, that I could live without extraneous things hanging down from the ceiling.

AT, if you don't have anything to show us, you can just have a shorter page. This is deeply pathetic.
I second Alana's comment. Another *very* highly recommended author: Yi-Fu Tuan.

The two greens are nice together. The red and the yellow I would lose.
