There's an old expression that sums up the combined effect of voluntary paring down of possessions when moving Plus theft by movers and in transit:
3 house moves equals one house fire.
typeshige, I bought the IqQair too and have kept it on the next to the lowest setting 24 hours a day. It works great and is fairly quiet at that setting.
Tomato plants have a distinctive smell that I'd tire of easily.
Has anyone tried growing corn as a houseplant? It probably wouldn't produce but it would smell great.
cool, but remember that Compact Fluorescent Bulbs contain small amounts of mercury that can be released if the bulb breaks, so perhaps seating isn't the safest place for these bulbs.

I was just looking at the Lampe Berger website and many many of their products have prominent warning that they can't be sold in California. I'm unsure whether to find that disturbing or reassuring.
I see these and futons, quilts, covers and cushions advertised in the Marukai store circular here in Los Angeles. Not all the stores stock these items so the Torrance store would be your best bet.
You only need a converter box if you get your tv signal over the airwaves and not from cable or a satellite dish, ie. you have your own antennae or rabbit ears.

Electric oil filled radiators give a nice heat that will take the chill off.
