I hate this house. The only good thing is some of the wallpaper. The bedroom looks like some spec house in the suburbs, especially with that horrible roof line.
This was in either Met Home, House Beautiful, or Elle Decor a while ago. I can't remember the details, but it's owned by a youngish guy and I believe it's in NYC.
I have sort of mixed feelings about this. It's great that she encourages her children to be creative, but the fact that she sounds a tad disappointed that they haven't seized birds from Takashimaya...

Honestly, for most of the existence of the world (until about the last 50 years), it was because, if you had sex, you ended up having kids. After that, I'm not sure. Everyone has different reasons.
Bluestar, that's (unfortunately) totally normal for custom-made blinds. That is why I bought fabric and a pattern and am going to a seamstress to have mine made!
It totally depends on the kid, imo, and I don't think 9 is young for a mature 9-year-old who has grown up in the city and knows the subway routes. Part of me thinks all this hysteria about parentin...
