A fairy door on the "garden side" of our old wood garage... just visible through the flowers... I think our young neices and nephews would be enthralled! I'd better get around to it soon, before th...
Not necessarily, ladymantle. LOL
We (DH & I, full disclosure) have a small house too, and no nooks near the kitchen for informal dining, and were recently offered a beautiful oak dinin...
Fan-fricking-Tastic! Suits the house architecture, sprawling-looking, Wrightesque. I love the fact that she's got two really generously sized ones for people to stand on: apart but together... defi...
A heat gun, as medusa12120 recommended, would be a great idea. I've been using ours to remove 70 years' worth of paint from wooden windows, but I can imagine it'd be great for that fossilized goo ...
South-facing or West-facing windows (in N hemisphere) blessed with a honking big deciduous tree for dappled light/shade... Ahhhh! Now that would be my dream situation.
Almost there... ...
The last two "seating arrangements" are indeed achieved in tiny studio or studio-like apartments. Bravo, AT, for covering this topic for a good range of "apartment-sized" rooms.
Just to play devil's advocate... wouldn't the wetlook tile also be more slippery? This matte tile/grout combo may in fact be safer. Anyone with any experience in this?
That's fabulous!
I wonder what all the mini-spikes are between 1 am and 7 am? Hot water heater cycling on? Can't be 4 individual bathroom runs (lights on) can it?
Check out the power su...
Speaking of simple, functional design... love that steel-runner'd sleigh! Did you know that with 2 hockeysticks, 1 big bathtowel and a good stapler to make a sail, you can fly down a frozen lake at...
All the "easy clean-up" comments have *almost* sold me. I've been using a 4-sided grater which offers some of the same benefits, but the flat mandoline design looks even easier to clean.
Hmm...
Bench seating nook and over-seat storage by the kitchen window are a nifty solution. Love the off-white/buttercream colour scheme too.
Is that Marmoleum on the kitchen floor?
Brutalist. I love it.
But I don't think I'd like a concrete sink unless very dense (lowest water/cement ratio) and as impermeable as possible. As a material, concrete holds significant water...
Jen French artwork: the two little bear children with something (barn? house? schoolhouse maybe?) in background. Wonderful! They look very ... unperturbed.
But I love the elegant Tiger Queen ...

That dining room works it! I was startled by the green but then I caught the Monet-like artwork... super interesting home.

"BEAUTIFUL space. but why have the furniture spaced so far apart from each other?" Because he can, Brad, because he can! LOL.
Looks as though it'd be cheery and cosy all through the winter as well, because it's so bright... yet not at all stark.

Brilliant step-wise harvesting! Who knew?

Favorite: evidence of previous existence of winged horse. Bet they made it... I think I recognize a well-known "frozen canter" Eohippus.
Can I suggest C. R. MacIntosh's designs, contemporary to FLW's, but with more whimsy to 'em: http://www.sculptart.co.uk/crm.htm
