Why not do the frosted glass, but only on the lower two thirds? That way it hides your bed and any mess, but still lets the light and view to the window through to the rest of the apartment?
This place is so dramatic! Its one of the first entries that has the "wow I could never pull that off myself" AND "I would totally want to live there" factors going at the same time. Super impressi...
I can't comment on that sofa in particular, but I'm convinced that those angled sofas are going to look incredibly dated really quickly. (Unless you don't mind all your guests post-2010 saying "mmm...
Ditto on the 'been there, seen that" nature of this post... in rural areas of ontario, painted porches are more common than not. After all, wood on the exterior of your house HAS to be either stain...
My parent's cottage in Ontario's Haliburton cottage country has a deck like this. It seems like a pretty common thing, actually. I don't think you need to be a hard core environmentalist for it to ...
Isn't the whole point of screen door that it keeps out bugs and dust and stuff? Since this curtain doesn't do that at all, isn't there "in place of nothing" rather than "in place of a screen door"?...
Those chairs/benches look unbeleivably uncomfortable. To me, they just contribute to the space looking random and unfinished; funky in a MyFirstApartment(tm) kind of way.
Leave the moldings white! The reason the blue looks so beautiful is that it looks so clean and fresh against the white and wood. I think that changing the colour of the moldings will just dull the ...
So many people don't decorate at all because they're nervous about figuring out "matches". If these kits help people transform their beige-box rooms, then that's great. These kits aren't a poor sol...
In my living room, I have that sofa, that coffee table, and (almost exactly) that lamp. Either i'm a design genius or INCREDIBLY unoriginal. I'm actually a bit creeped out by the 'replica'-ness of ...
I think that that particular pink is indeed very 'barbie vomit'. Aside from that, i think it's 'too much' with the couch. Rather than making your couch pop, it makes your walls pop and your sofa re...
Would these chairs really seem so remarkable if they didn't have the 'eames' name attached to them? I'm getting a bit tired of the repetitive brand loyalty on AT, I'm beginning to think that absolu...
Any kind of oil works. Or anything oily. Most people have something oily in their kitchens, so why buy a specialised product just for this purpose (ie goo gone?)
I'm surprised the plaster doesn't smoosh the petals up, or make everything droop.
I'd also wonder if the rotting plant matter inside them wouldn't get awfully disgusting and smelly.

I've always found ideas like this pretty in theory, but very My First Apartment(tm) in practice.

I don't understand why bugs fly in when i have a half inch hole in a window screen, but they don't somehow get around the curtain.
oops, that's "we all learn" not "wall all learn".

What do you do with a table that sits 7" off the ground? (Seriously, i'm curious.)
