I have a parrot and I feel marginalised by your assumption that pets = dogs and cats. Having said that he is only small so the damage he has done is limited to shredding tissues (any tissue, any t...
I disagree. This is a great idea. Not everyone scavenges boxes for a move, and as long as it doesn't cost any more than buying new boxes, then I can see it being very popular. I'd use them!
I'm distracted by the idea of your bottom level becoming a giant crazy paving Don't. I can't imagine that looking better than what is there now. No amount of shutters and trim will fix that?
Wine does breathe in a wine glass, but if you decant the entire bottle then all of it gets a chance to wake up rather than just the bit that's in your glass. So, the wine is nicer quicker. The deca...
I can see it has its place and if it suits your kitchen then great go for it.
I don't really get the point of using it for notes though. I've got a small whiteboard stuck to the side ...
I think this is a cultural thing to do with the american acceptance of shower curtains. Elsewhere they're considered awful and I hate staying places that have them. I'd much rather a screen like th...
I love the colours in your dining room, very warm and dramatic, but I agree with Mel265 that you should have moved the nasty cheap drawers away before photographing the dining room as they just do ...
It's lovely and how nice to see a fellow Melbournite here! But why aren't those three pictures on the green wall hung at the same level??? The middle one over the couch in particular is far too hig...
I'm pretty sure there was an AT post a few days ago showing different kinds of plaid cushions on a plaid sofa.
Or, I'd echo putting a neutral throw over the sofa to minimise the plaid,...
I'm sure all thisinformation would be really useful if only people had read that you hadn't moved in yet - presumably this is not therefore your furniture in the photo?
I say keep it ...
That wood is so beautiful to paint it would be a crime.
If you want the room brightened or moderned up, then change the tiles, change the benchtop, paint the walls something other tha...
The washer/dryer in the kitchen is very much a staple of British houses which are too small for a separate laundry room. You get used to it. I'd rather that than have to lug laundry to a laundromat...
Wow what a great post and great comments! I adore books and bookshelves, I even have a coffeetable book called 'living with books' which I bought solely for the purpose of leafing through and drool...
Fabulous office space Jodi, and wonderful blog! I just spent a happy hour leafing back through your entries (more please!). It's so nice to see ikea stuff looking so fabulous, so many people seem t...
If you love fabric, give it a go. After a bit remove it and decide which look you prefer. It's not like you're going to glue it down. As to whether it would suit, it would depend on the rest of you...

Yes yes yes!
I'd give this a thumbs up if the walls were painted but so far all I can see is it's a neutral room with coloured knobs.

So disappointing to only have photos of one (ok two) bookcases.
What about a slatey blue/grey to echo the colours of the roof?

Aha! I *thought* that lamp looked like something I once saw at ikea! Thanks Jodi :-)
