My favorite food is pasta. I hope Lukins includes pasta in her book because I'm always looking for more ways to make it.

I'd like to win this book because I'm focusing on simple but elegant meals; also, I draw inspiration from seasonal menus.

My favorite slow cooker meal always has been, and always will be, beef stew. Of course, the way I prepare it has changed a bit over the years, but it's still best done in the slow cooker.

My favorite - and it was a difficult choice - is the Sanford Burrows' Field Day Collection. I like the simple elegance and light splash of color of this design.

My favorite tea is green tea with honey, but when I'm not feeling well, I need to drink SweeTouchNee tea, since it's the tea I used to drink in my childhood. It's a comfort food thing.

I use plain old white vinegar for cleaning.

When I bought "this old house," I bought bolts of material to make curtains for it. Then my sewing machine died. If I'm fortunate enough to win, I'll be sewing curtains for a while.

I no longer iron my clothes, since I broke my iron. But when I did iron, I did it about once a week, when I did the laundry.
