What a mess. I remember thinking the same things when I first saw this in Met Home. The mirrors are the worst part though, they look like huge versions of the cheap make up mirrors with the fluor...

Libraries for lazy people! :-) I give it three weeks. Let's check back in on the spot and see if the bookshelves (which look bolted down) and the books are still there. :-)

I can't resist... I will agree with all the posts that say DO NOT PAINT. For the love of god leave that mantle the way it is. You are very lucky to have one in such a great condition.

To FantasticMrFaux You stated... "But can we all agree that gypsy is a pejorative? Rom or Romany, if you must." Actually Gypsy is NOT a pejorative... From Wikipedia:

Ugh, I agree with TPGIRL. Why would anyone want to make it look like a gypsies set up in their backyard? What next...a broken Chevy and outhouse to feel like Im in the deep south?

Ohhh great way to make a large room look much smaller. Specially with the light floors. Attracts the eye down to the floor and gives the impression of the room being smaller.

I'd say more like $170 each tops. No offense... but these are mass produced American. The $250-300 is for rarer lower production Danish mid-century items. These are mass produced and not by any ...

How didn't anyone mention Dick Cheney!!!! He loves these and probably bought several. These are perfect for him.

#1 does not work. That's a day bed. In the center of the room... the flat panel is awkwardly in a corner. Huh?!?!

The plug at the feet makes no sense. If you go to the trouble of plugging the board... why not have the plug for the iron up at the top. I have a special outlet at my home...it's up high and made...

That's cool...not sure how they got around building and fire codes. What kind of a draft does it get in a Boston winter?

Pretty easy. The TV is a dead giveaway, the color pallette is clearly 90s. The legs of the couch and the stairs say it's at least 1990s. The kitchen cabinet in the distance. Cool ...

I agree with the post by smoothsailing. I looks like the owner's personal store! I was originally thinking it looked like a TGI Friday's back when they used to have more knick knacks in their rest...

Looks horrible. What's the point of this post? Here's the Q: Would it look better without the micro? Answer: Yes, absolutely. Do you want to look at a microwave while you eat?!

This ridiculous video was made fun of on the Daily Show. Not exactly the way we can make enviromentalism accessible to the masses.

The entry states... "this Portland hotel (or motel, depending on the reviews)" -- That does not make sense. Something is either a hotel OR a motel. The word motel comes from the words motor and h...

The problem with the roman blinds on teh front door is that they look crappy on the other side, no?

Very problematic. Is the storage always supposed to be "out" or "in"? If it is always "in" you then eliminate useable counter space. You walk in with groceries or flowers or mail... how do you p...

Heather... now that's a steal. I know the Eames desk is like $2K at DWR but that's why its Design WITHIN Reach and NOT Design IN Reach... :-) It's within reach if your stop spending...

When did our "scavenger" section get so damn expensive. I don't think I've seen a deal on here in a while.
