I agree that Canadian content would be great -- there's so much different architecture & design across this huge country!

I'd go with a pale yellow paint colour, but would tie the two colours together with a patterned shower curtain, and perhaps burgundy linens.

Dana if you really love the wood, then you would probably want to paint the moulding a deep grey or perhaps replace the molding altogether with a wooden molding to better tie in the wood of the win...
