The best thing for cat barf is a dog. Gross, and won't work for everyone, but my dog does a very good job of cleaning up after the pukey felines and the humans who make messes while cleaning.
I recommend the bedspread/tapestry things they sell at Urban Outfitters. They're cheap ($32 at most, cheaper if they're on sale), come in fun patterns, and hold up really well even if you wash them...
I really like the idea for this post (looking at buildings/houses and imagining the inhabitants is one of my favorite things, ever), but it just kind of got started and didn't really go anywhere.
The color is absolutely gorgeous. Don't change it! I like the shiny frames and would ditch the track lighting (but I have no advice on how to do that).
